武道修業の出発に当たる新春恒例行事として、開館以来、古式に則る鎧着初めを兼ねた鏡開き式、現代武道(9種目)の模範演武、武道始め稽古会、おしるこ会が行われます。

2015 “KAGAMIBIRAKI” FESTIVAL
Purpose
In the New Year, a traditional rice cake cutting ceremony known as kagamibiraki is conducted, followed by martial arts demonstrations and training to signify the start of another year of prosperity and development.

Yoroi Kizome, Sankon no Gi, Kagami Biraki,
Yoroi Kizome is a ceremony which wear an armor for the first time.
Sankon no Gi is a ceremony which drink liquor at the time of taking the field, returning in triumph, celebrateing his attainment of manhood.
Kagami Biraki is a festival which literally means "unveiling of a round-shaped mirror," has its origin in a ceremony that was widely practiced by the samurai in the 15th century.
